we're getting
married
august 15th
pazo pegullal

the beginning of something
Madrid.
Spring equinox.
It was raining.

They were both holding umbrellas.
He—careful, like always.
She—quietly hoping
they’d end up sharing one,
like in Les Parapluies de Cherbourg.

They were different.
Or maybe not that much.

He built shelves in her soul,
showed her that staying
isn’t always something to fear.
She messed up his maps,
taught him that getting lost
is also home.

And somehow,
they got it right.
Without even noticing,
time began to walk beside them.

New cities,
shared tables,
different accents,
roads still unknown.

They discovered that the world is bigger
when seen through two pairs of eyes,
and that sometimes a song playing in the background
is enough to know—
this is it.

Since then, they keep traveling.
Trying, discovering. Staying.

Like that rainy day in March:
without looking for anything,
they found everything.

how to get there
airports
VIGO
It is the most comfortable and closest option. It has direct flights from Madrid and Barcelona, as well as good connections with a short layover in Madrid from other parts of Spain. Our main recommendation due to its proximity and convenience.
PORTO (Portugal)
It is a 1 hour and 15-minute drive from Vigo. Although it is not the closest option, it usually offers cheaper flights. There is also a direct ALSA bus from the airport to Vigo, with an approximate duration of 2 hours.
SANTIAGO
Located a fifty-minute drive from Vigo, it is a good option if you cannot find available flights to Vigo. In addition, you can arrive by train from the center of Santiago to Vigo.

train

We recommend this option if you are coming from Madrid, as it takes about 4 hours to reach Vigo Urzaiz. From other parts of Spain, train connections can be more complicated.

getting around the city
Although you will probably stay in the center and the distances between the different points are short and easy to do on foot, it is always good to know that Uber works very well in the city for quick trips. You can also opt for a taxi if you prefer.

other options
If you are traveling in a group, we also recommend checking apartments in the center of Vigo through Airbnb, which can be a very comfortable option to share. If instead you plan to drive to the pazo, you can also consider staying in nearby towns between Vigo and Pazo Pegullal, such as O Porriño, Mos, Redondela or Salceda de Caselas, where there is also a good offer of accommodation.

something ... different
If you have some time on Sunday to explore Vigo, a classic stop is the famous Oyster Street in the Old Town. You can enjoy freshly shucked oysters at Ostras Isabel.
The local tradition is to head there around midday for an aperitif. Simply order your oysters and pair them with a chilled glass of Albariño (or your drink of choice) from one of the neighboring bars. It’s a quintessential Vigo experience and a great way to soak up the city's atmosphere.

specialty coffee
Ever since we met, one of our favorite things to do together is hunt for the best coffee shops in every city we visit. It’s a little tradition that follows us wherever we go.

That’s why we wanted to share some of our favorite spots in Vigo with you. Whether you're looking for a great cup of coffee when you arrive on Friday, a slow Sunday morning before heading home, or perhaps for a future visit when you return to a tierriña.
